The Gladwin Lady G’s had a few week of scheduled gaming activity last week. Their week kicked off Tuesday evening, traveling to Brethren for a 9-1 victory over the Brethren Bobcats.

Gladwin boys Track moves up to sixth in the MITCA rankings

The Gladwin Track and Field boys had another amazing week. The biggest highlight was the boys team moving up to sixth in the MITCA rankings, now qualifying them for the MITCA state Finals held in Berrien Springs on May 26. This is Gladwin’s first State qualification for the boys since 2004.

The Gladwin Flying G’s and Meridian Mustangs battled to extra innings on Thursday night, needing eight innings to crown a victor. Both teams scored a run in the second inning, the only points through seven innings.

Gladwin County Captains 13U baseball team wins Muskegon Spring Slugfest trophy

The Gladwin County Captains 13U baseball team played in the Muskegon Spring Slugfest for a title tournament on May 5-6. The team went 4-0 for the weekend to bring home the trophy!
The Captains defeated the West Michigan Bucks 8-1 in their first game.

It was a slow start for the Beaverton Beavers baseball team Thursday night. The Pinconning Spartans took an early 1-0 lead in the night’s first of two games. The Spartans held the lead for four innings before the Beavers were able to break the scoreboard.

The Gladwin girls Track and Field team was in action last Wednesday, hosting the Pinconning Spartans, the Ogemaw Heights Falcons, and the Tawas Braves. Several girls soared to the top, taking first place in multiple events for the Flying G’s.
