GLADWIN – The Michigan United Conservation Clubs (MUCC) is looking for volunteers this Saturday, July 20, at the Gladwin State Game Area (GSGA). The MUCC is partnering with the Ruffed Grouse Society and the Department of Natural Resources to improve wildlife habitat in the area. Volunteers will cut and stack the limbs of fallen trees to make brush piles that can be used as cover for wildlife. This project also removes diseased and invasive trees and opens understory for native vegetation regeneration.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gladwin State Game Area (43.976280-84.706279) off of South Rogers Ave, Harrison, MI 48625. You can register for the event on the MUCC website.
