NEM Annual Baseball Reunion to be held June 22

  • The 1940 Rhodes Baseball team, which included three members of the Carstens’ family: William (Bill), Sr., center backrow/manager, Cal Carstens, far right back row, and Robert Carstens, far right second row. Cal Carstens, who is being inducted posthumously at the 2025 NEM baseball reunion, had just joined the team as a pitcher, after playing minor league baseball for the Cincinnati Orinda Reds in California.

    PINCONNINGThe Northeast Michigan (NEM) baseball league will host its 29th Annual Reunion on June 22, 2025, 11 a.m., at the Cheese House in Pinconning, Michigan. The Pinny Cheese house is located near I-75 at Pinconning Road.The NEM began in 1916 and lasted until 1986, and included teams from Bay City to Midland to Alpena.
