CADILLAC – Gladwin traveled to Cadillac last Tuesday for an opening round district game against Benzie Central High School. The G’s broke up a tight game with four runs in the fifth and five in the sixth to take an 11-0 win. Haley Miller and Grace Beardsley had three hits each. Suthern Schuler, Chloe Kokotovich, and Brooke McKeever all had two RBIs. Schuler threw a one-hitter for Gladwin striking out four in the shutout effort.

Gladwin was eliminated from the playoffs on Saturday morning when they lost a tight 3-1 game to Reed City. Both pitchers had strong games giving up four hits each. Gladwin’s Suthern Schuler struck out three and did not give up any walks. All three scored by Reed City were unearned.

Schuler had two hits including a double and an RBI. Gabby Airbets and Sydney Conley had the other two Gladwin hits. Gladwin finished the year 17-13 and will lose four seniors. Haley Miller, Kassiday Dawley, Schuler and Airbets are going to be tough to replace. All four played a big part in the success of Gladwin softball this year.
