Gladwin Bowling attends annual tournament

BEAVERTON – Gladwin traveled to the Beaverton Bowl last Saturday for the annual Jack Pine Conference Mid Winter Tourney. All seven Jack Pine Bowling Conference teams participated in the event along with male bowlers from Pinconning.

Jarrod Wirth of Meridian won the boys’ tournament with an 860 series. Gladwins Tucker Roehrs (765) finished sixth followed by Zach McCummings (761) and Ryan Hager (753) in seventh and eighth places respectively. Rounding out the top 15 were Riley Dotson in 10th, Jonah Nolph in 12th and Ethan Weston in 15th. Logan Priest also bowled for Gladwin.

Miriah Walter was the top bowler for Gladwin on the girl’s side. She finished in sixth place with a 606 series. Skylar Davy (571) came in ninth and Brooke Last (527) finished 13th. Kayla van Tiem placed 17th with a 510. Brielle Dick and Makayla Wilson also bowled for Gladwin.

The conference duel meet season resumes this Saturday at Gateway Lanes in Clare. Both the boys and girls start at 11 p.m. The Gladwin and Beaverton Bowling Teams will join forces this Friday to work the monthly fish fry at the Gladwin Knights of Columbus Hall on M-18 south of M-61 from 4-7.
