Beaverton had very little trouble with an outmanned Farwell squad last Thursday defeating the Eagles 64-20. The Beavers got off to a quick start scoring nine straight points before Farwell was able to hit a pair of free throws to get on the board. Ethan Wolfe got the first bucket of the game and then followed that up with a three-point shot to put Beaverton up 5-0. A driving bucket by Logan Love and a put-back by Alex Pahl extended the Beaverton lead to 9-0 before Farwell finally scored. Pahl added four more points and George Killian added one to give the Beavers a 14-2 lead at the end of the first quarter. Mitch Hall and Love began to take over as Beaverton dominated the second quarter outscoring Farwell 22-6 to take a 36-8 halftime lead. There was very little in the way of adjustments to be made at halftime as the Beavers were clearly more talented and aggressive. Love and Hall continued to score and Pahl was good on the boards as Beaverton outscored the Eagles 28-12 in the second half.
Love was the leading scorer for Beaverton with 20 points. Hall added 17 and Pahl 10. Pahl grabbed 13 rebounds, Love had 10 and Hall added 8. Garrett Baxtr led Farwell with seven points. With the win Beaverton improved to 2-2 overall and 1-2 in the Jack Pine Conference.
Earlier in the week the Beavers lost to Sanford Meridian by the score of 43-32. Hall led Beaverton with 17 points, Pahl had 15. Wolfe was the leading rebounder for Beaverton with six. The top scorer for Meridian was Dane Plichta with 17, Nick Metzger had 10. Beaverton is off until after the Christmas break. They return to action on January 4 when they play at Ogemaw Heights.
