Celebrating 20 years of services

To the Editor:

It has been twenty years since Rev. Mark Boyce and his family answered God’s call to come to serve the congregation of the Gladwin Church of Nazarene. It has been an exciting and rewarding time for both the pastoral family and the people as we built the current church structure, expanded our compassionate ministries programs and witnessed individuals grow in God’s grace.

We invite you to take a look back as we celebrate the past twenty years. Please join our service on Sunday, March 21 at 10:45 a.m. as we celebrate how God has been working in our church. Our address is 560 W. M-61.

There will be a time dedicated to those who have gone on to their heavenly rewards. All attendees are strongly encouraged to wear masks. We invite everyone to join us for a time of celebration of God’s church and His people who have responded to His call. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Pastor Mark at 989-426-6536. Hope to see you there.

A round of

applause

To the Editor:

Greetings to the Beaverton-Gladwin communities and all the ships at sea! This is my thank you to the Gladwin staff and organization of the Central Michigan Health Dept. for their very efficient and very compassionate distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine. Your commitment to providing everyone who comes in for their shots shows in everything you do to make us feel comfortable and cared for.

Here’s my “round of applause” for our public/governmental system working at its very best. And I know you will all be glad when everyone in Gladwin County has received their shots. That is when you will all be able to give yourselves a well deserved “well-done, good and faithful servant.”

Shalom,

Supporting GAFT

To the Editor:

Gladwin Area Friends of the Theater needs our help. After the flood of 2020 it became apparent that they need a new home to house their performing art projects and their youth events. The proposed building will be a true asset to our county.

The Gladwin County Democratic Party fully supports the erection of this facility. Besides offering a community based form of entertainment this building could allow a multitude of options for other groups to use it. It could be a venue for speakers, conferences or small concerts as a few examples. Financial gifts can be handled through gladwinareafriendsofthetheatre.org. Gladwin County will benefit as a whole from this new facility. Please take the time to get involved and help G.A.F.T. make this new home a reality.

Thank you

To the Editor:

We wish to say thank you to all for their prayers, cards and well wishes during Catherine Gillman’s hospital stay and passing. Each one meaning so much. I was reminded of things I had forgotten or never known that she had done. Small behind the scenes acts of kindness that made so many lives just a little better. Thank you very much for these memories.

Also, thank you to the doctor and night staff at the Gladwin Hospital Emergency Room on February 8 for the excellent care Katie received before being transferred to MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland.

A very special thank you to Pastor Emily from Christ the King Lutheran Church for her trips to Midland to see Katie and her special message at the memorial service.
