To the Editor:
This weekend I was reminded over and over again why Gladwin is such a wonderful community! First of all, the open house for Gladwin’s Own Cooter’s Garage which is a beautiful tribute. Seeing the Schuster family put so much into a piece of artwork that is sure to be a hit for tourists should be inspiring for all of us to share our own stories and passions with our community!
Also, I hosted a candidate meet and greet at Redeemed Marketplace that went very well; thanks to Redeemed Marketplace for their willingness to host community events. My opponent in the mayoral race, and two city council candidates came out to be available to those who stopped by; we even had our current, retiring, mayor in attendance when she wasn’t picking out a car she liked best at the car show. It was a nice confirmation that we all can work together.
I’m reminded of a passage in one of Peter 4 that tells us to “Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others.”
It’s nice to take a moment and notice the many reasons to be grateful to live in Gladwin!
