Thank you

To the Editor:

Gladwin County V.F.W. 7303 Post and Aux. would like to thank all who supported our monthly fund-raisers. The steak dinner and pork chop dinner were a great success. Thank you to our king teams for the long hours to make them a success.

Our veterans count on us to aide and assist where we can. It’s a sad day when our fellow man is struggling and we stand by and do nothing. May we all feel the need and step up to the plate to help. We all know that what goes around comes around. So be generous with your time, your compassion and your talents. Always, always be aware of those around you. People need people and you are one to be one. We all have a purpose on this earth and it’s not to serve self. So be kind to one to another. Grit your teeth if you have to, you wont  be sorry. Later you will not regret the choice to forgive. We are all human, nobody’s perfect. If you think so, just look in the mirror.

Thank you again for your support of our veterans. Look for our monthly ad, come out and enjoy a great meal while doing a great act of kindness for our veterans. Hope to see you soon. Steak dinners on the second Friday of each month. Aux. dinners on the third Friday of each month. God bless you all. God bless our troops and God bless America again.

Thanks for the beauty!

To the Editor:

I would like to publicly thank Brian Jungman, Janet Brown, and the Master Gardeners of Gladwin. Brian has improved the beauty of our City Park every year for the last three years. The benches, flagpoles, flowers and landscaping have made it such a pleasure to walk through the park. Janet works tirelessly at Riverwalk Place. The landscaping and flowers are just beautiful. It’s such a perfect place to take photos and just to sit and enjoy the scenery. And the Master Gardeners have various places that they have added their special touch to our city. Whether you are downtown on Cedar Ave. near Northern Expresso, or out at the ball fields, they have volunteered to make Gladwin attractive. So I suggest we all stop and take some time to view and smell the flowers! And thank you for your dedication and hard work.

To One and To All

To the Editor:

We give thanks throughout the communities of Gladwin County, because, well, because there are sooooooo many reasons to do so.

And here is another: To all the active Master Gardeners who give of their time, talent, and treasure so that the City of Beaverton pops with fresh, enduring colors, thank you for all the weeding and work you give so that the Boat Launch area, the City of Beaverton’s Clock, the Laundry-mat around the City Hall, the World War I Memorial, the day lilies at the Beaverton Pharmacy and the entrance to Leo Ross Park are beautiful and flourishing.

Shalom, dear tenders and hewers of the soil,

Rev. Karen Blatt
