DEAR DR. ROACH: Due to a slight genetic risk of breast cancer (my Tyrer-Cuzick Model score was 20.6 percent), my doctor wants me to get breast MRIs with contrast annually. I am concerned about long-term exposure to the gadolinium-based contrast dye.

LANSING Wayne State University recently unveiled a new vending machine not for snacks but for a nasal spray that can reverse an opioid overdose. The Narcan nasal spray can be used for overdoses of such opioids as heroin, fentanyl and oxycodone.

To the Editor: I am responding to a letter written by Harry Thurkow published in the March 22 edition of this newspaper. He wrote that state-level discussions about instituting red-flag laws, more background checks and safety locks on guns would trample gun owners’ constitutional rights.
