Beaverton to celebrate Memorial Day May 29

BEAVERTON Plans are now in place for the 2023 Memorial Day commemoration on Monday, May 29. As usual, there will be a parade in Beaverton. Lineup will be at 1 p.m. at the municipal parking lot near the Community Center. The parade will step off at 1:30 p.m.

Democrats in Lansing continue to work for us

To the Editor: Democrats in Lansing are continuing to work for the people of Michigan no matter where you live. They have recently repealed the “right to work for less” law which will help to raise wages for workers in our state. They reinstated prevailing wage requirements on any state projects.

Vending machines fighting drug overdoses with free Narcan

LANSING Wayne State University recently unveiled a new vending machine not for snacks but for a nasal spray that can reverse an opioid overdose. The Narcan nasal spray can be used for overdoses of such opioids as heroin, fentanyl and oxycodone.
