Thanks to all

To the Editor: The Gladwin Goodfellows would like to thank all who made Distribution Day 2023 a success. It takes many hands and much preparation to buy, load, sort, load again and distribute the 100 boxes of food just in time for the Christmas holidays.

Concerned citizens

To the Editor: I’d like to say the Mayor Sarah Kile is doing a wonderful job. She has tried to do things for the people, but every time she tries, she’s voted or voiced down. It seems like the Gladwin City Council is more concerned about how and what they vote for.
Christmas has long been a time for kids meetings Santa Claus. This one was taken in the Buckeye Township Hall during the prosperous oil boom years. It was probably taken just after the attack on Pearl Harbor and America’s entry into WWII, but before the reality of what that would mean had really sunk in. There are no identifications of any of the children, but perhaps some readers may recognize the event and perhaps even provide identifications. Send them to shaupt@thegladwincountyrecord.com.

DEAR PAW’S CORNER: My brother is staying with us through the holiday season while he figures out his life. However, he insists on keeping the feeding bowls full for my two dogs, Buster and Charlie. I’ve spoken to him several times already, asking him not to do it.

EDITOR’S INBOX

To the Editor: There has been a lot in the Gladwin paper recently about what is going on at City Hall. I want to remind everyone that there are at least two sides to every story.

After a good night’s sleep and letting the dogs out, I sipped coffee and waited for the sun to rise. As “Old Sol” (Latin for sun) began peeking over the horizon, I noticed snow on my outside deck. Within a few minutes, it became apparent that it had snowed by a few inches last night.

80th Sausage Sauerkraut Supper

To the Editor: A tremendous “Thank You” to all our loyal and faithful customers for coming to the 80th Annual Our Savior Lutheran Church Sausage and Sauerkraut Supper in Gladwin. This year’s meal included Take-Outs and was highlighted by return to inside dining to delight about 500 customers.
