To the Editor:I am writing to give my full support, in the upcoming elections, behind our incumbent Mayor, Sarah Kile. I also urge all citizens of Gladwin to do the same.

DVT patient switches to aspirin with good results

DEAR DR. ROACH: I am an 81-year-old female who has been on Xarelto for years due to deep vein thrombosis (DVT). I also have an inferior vena cava (IVC) filter. I read that lowdose aspirin (325 mg) is just as effective in preventing clots in the legs as Xarelto, which is very expensive.

K of C supports backpack program

To the Editor:On Friday, July 12, there was a Knights of Columbus Fish Fry, benefitting the Backpack Buddies (weekend food) Program in the Gladwin School District. Weekend food insecurity dramatically impacts the performance of young students early in the school week.
