Roger (John) Flury
Roger (John) Flury entered the gates of heaven on October 9, 2024, passing away at Gladwin Hospital. John was born in Detroit on August 11, 1942 to the late Charles and Dorothy (Schulert) Flury.
He graduated from Madison Heights High School Class of 1960. John was married to Joy (Supnick) on June 25, 1966. They were married for 57 years before Joy’s passing on November 22, 2023. John lived his life to the fullest.
Before moving to Gladwin, he spent several years working at Flex-Cable in Troy, Michigan. After retiring, he moved to Gladwin, Michigan, with his wonderful wife Joy. Living in their beautiful house for 23 years, a lot of memories were made with close family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marvel (Flury) Erdodi; nephew, Michael Erdodi; niece, Jeannine (Erdodi) Smith; brotherin- law, Frank (Marvel) Erdodi; and great-nephew, Adam Erdodi.
John loved to watch his WWE wrestling and he was also a fan of the Detroit Tigers and Lions. When John wasn’t watching TV, reading the newspaper or doing the crossword puzzles, taking family vacations, he spent his time doing as he would call them “projects” around the house. John was a friend to many that lived by him and his wife, Joy. John F. and Jim D. were very good friends of his. Sometimes they would help each other with their “projects”. John also loved to hunt and fish. He would share so many stories of hunting with his friends and great nephew Paul.
John was also a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church for 24 years.
Surviving are his children: Amy Flury and Matthew Flury; granddaughter, Jenna Flury; nieces, nephews, greatnieces and nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Pastor Adam Flanick presiding with inurnment at Oak View Cemetery in Royal Oak, Michigan in the spring. Family will greet friends at the church on Thursday, from 10 a.m., until time of services those wishing an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers are asked to consider the family’s wishes
