Penny Jean Corlew, 55, of Gladwin, MI lost her battle with cancer on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015. She was born in Flint, MI on Sept. 23, 1960, the daughter of David and Winona “Jeannie” (Miller) Williams.
She was united in marriage to Jimmy Corlew on Sept. 25, 1976 in Flint, MI, celebrating 39 years together. She had lived in Gladwin County since 1981, previously residing in Mt. Morris. She was owner of P.J.’s Cut & Curl Salon and a member of Gladwin Free Methodist Church in Gladwin.
She leaves her loving husband, Jimmy Corlew of Gladwin to cherish her memory along with her four children: Jeannie Marie (Dan) Figgins of Clare, Jennifer Jean (Travis) Lambdin of Freeland, Jimmy Lee Corlew of Buckeye, Arizona and Elena Meyer of Bon, Germany; seven grandchildren: Krystle, Mark Anthony, Emerson, Righley, Mason, Devon and Isaac. She is also survived by her parents David and Jeannie; grandmother Irene Miller of Mt. Morris; father-in-law and mother-in-law Wayne and Fern Corlew of Gladwin; brother Paul Williams of Flint; sister Cheryl Boling of Flint; brother Danny Williams of Jacksonville, FL; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her grandfather Walter Miller and a niece Rachel Boling.
Funeral Services were conducted by Pastor Phil Hortop on Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at Gladwin Free Methodist Church. The family greeted friends on Sunday, Oct.25, 2015 from 1-8 p.m. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, MI.
