Norris C. Kranich

Norris C. Kranich, age 88, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. He was born on March 30, 1936 to Reynold and Martha Kranich of Gladwin, Michigan. Norris graduated from Hay High School in 1953. He stayed on the family farm until joining the US Army where he was stationed in Germany. In September, 1961, he married his sweetheart, Marjorie Wood, from Mancelona, and they were married for 55 years.

They made their home in Grand Rapids, where they had two children, Dean and Nancy. After retiring from Parker Hannifin Corporation in Lakeview, Norris built a home on what had been part of the family farm where he grew up. At heart, Norris was always a farmer.

He also enjoyed playing games with his family, watching gospel music performances/videos, and traveling. Norris was a member of Woodward Ave. Baptist Church in Wyoming, Michigan, and later of Gladwin Cornerstone Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Maurice; sisters: Flora Helling, Alice Kelly, Clara Maddox, Charlene Van-Wyk; niece, Donna Fisher; and nephew, Larry Maddox. His wife Marjorie also preceded him in July, 2017. Surviving Norris is his son, Dean (Stephanie) of Gladwin; daughter, Nancy (Dale) Miller of Ionia; grandson, Ryan (Joy) Kranich of Vancouver, Washington; granddaughter, Stephanie Kranich of Bowling Green, Ohio; and granddaughter, FaithAnne Miller of Ionia; Amelia Kranich of Gladwin; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A private funeral service was held on August 9, 2024 in Gladwin.

He is interred in Highland Cemetary with his wife, parents, and grandparents.
