Mickey Lavern Yager, age 69, of Beaverton, MI passed away at MidMichigan Health in Midland, MI on Monday, Oct. 19, 2015. He was born in Beaverton on April 20, 1946, the son of Rolland and Mable (Stillwagon) Yager. He was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam Era.
On Aug. 21, 2010 he was united in marriage to Brenda Starr in Beaverton. He was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County and he was owner of Yager Construction Company in Beaverton until his retirement in 2006. He loved fishing and very much enjoyed spending time at the Family Diner in Beaverton over coffee with guys.
His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Brenda Yager of Beaverton, four daughters, Mickki (Richard) Templeman of Coleman, Becky (Howard) Smith of Gladwin, Windi (Ben) Sterling of Laingsburg and Amanda Yager of Mt. Pleasant; one step-daughter Kristi Bowen of Beaverton. His children blessed him with five beautiful grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother Ron (Cathie) Yager of Houghton Lake and former wife Sandra Yager of Beaverton. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Martin Hodge on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, 11 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at Beaverton Church of the Nazarene, Beaverton, MI. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at the church. He will be laid to rest at Beaverton City Cemetery, Beaverton, MI.
