Mary Ann Fassett
Mary Ann Fassett, age 87 of Beaverton, Michigan, went home to Jesus peacefully, with family at her side, on August 15, 2024. She was born to Raymond Cook and Jennie (Casey) Cook on March 29, 1937 in Dearborn, MI.
Mary Ann was the oldest of four children, her following two siblings shared her birthday which made it extra special. She moved with her family from Bay City to Gladwin in the sixth grade, where Mary Ann graduated from Gladwin High in 1954.
She married Richard Fassett on New Year’s Eve, 1957 and they welcomed five children.
Maryann’s greatest joy and main focus of her life was being the best mother she could be. She was a stay-at-home mom, creating a lovely home that was welcoming, with a nutritious, home cooked meal on the table every night.
Most loved was Friday night homemade pizza and the fabulous desserts she made to satisfy her own sweet tooth. At 40-years-old, Maryann went to college with her sister Pat to become an LPN. She loved caring for the elderly, which was a good fit for her kind and gentle personality. Her sisters would call her their best friend and a trusted confidant. Mary Ann enjoyed gardening, swimming, interior design, and good food. She loved to travel and some of her best times were vacations with her husband and siblings. She loved the southwest and Arizona held a special place in her heart. Her faith in God and a devotion to the Virgin Mary guided her life, and gave her strength to face challenges with courage and dignity.
