Karen Sue Mielke
Karen Sue Mielke, age 76, of Beaverton, passed away on Dec. 2, 2025. She was born on Nov. 1, 1949, the daughter of William D. and Mary E. (Gallery) Meekhof, in Midland. On May 29, 1971 Karen married the love of her life, Curtiss Mielke. Together, they shared many years of love and cherished memories until he preceded her in death in 2021.
She was employed as a paraprofessional at Beaverton Middle School for many years until her retirement. Karen had a passion for photography and was always taking pictures. She loved watching and supporting the Detroit Tigers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and making home cooked meals.
She is survived by her children: Nikki (James) Parsons of Kimball, MI; and Nathaniel (Jessica) Mielke of Posen, MI; grandchildren: Brandon Parsons, Emily Parsons, Ethan Mielke, Seth Mielke, Jonathan Mielke, and Elizabeth Mielke; sister, Sandy Swift; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Curtiss; parents, William and Mary; and sister, Linda Wontorcik.
Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services planned at this time. She will be laid to rest at Homer Township Cemetery in Midland. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome. com.
