Julia Anne Mitchell
Julia Anne Mitchell, born November 2, 1953, passed away in Gladwin, Michigan on Christmas Day evening after a years-long battle with lung cancer.
Born in New York City on November 2, 1953, Julia Anne was a child of the 1960s, who loved rock and roll. It was a huge part of her heart and soul.
When the famous Woodstock music festival took place in August 1969, she found a way out to Bethel, New York from her family home in Flint, Michigan. Her favorite singers were Barbara Streisand and Bonnie Raitt.
Julia Anne could often be heard singing some of the lyrics to her favorite Bonnie Raitt song, Women Be Wise: Women be wise, keep your mouth shut, don’t advertise your man Don’t sit around gossiping, explaining what your good man really can do Some women nowadays, Lord they ain’t no good They will laugh in your face, Then try to steal your man from you Women be wise, keep your mouth shut, don’t advertise your man.
Julia Anne will be remembered for her loving and caring nature. She was always preoccupied with making sure that family was safe, comfortable and thriving. Her selflessness persisted, even as she struggled through her recent health challenges – a testament to her benevolence.
As a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts, Julia Anne studied Childhood Psychology and Theatre. She loved working with children.
Julia is survived by her mother, Clara J. Mitchell age 99; and her two younger brothers: James and Johnston; 10 nieces and nephews, and 10 great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, oldest brother, an older and a younger sister.
