Jean Walker, age 95, of Beaverton, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024.

She was born on February 11, 1929, the daughter of Stanley and Julia Mae Poplewski, in Highland Park, MI. Jean was proud of her work as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone in the 1940s-1950s. Jean married her first husband Roy Tyranski, and they had three children, Larry, Jill, and Ronald. They shared many memories together until he preceded her in death. Jean married Royal Walker on February 27, 1970, in Walled Lake, MI.

They had one child, Bradley, and enjoyed life together until his death in 1997.

Jean was very passionate about many things in her life, including gambling at the casino, cheering on Tiger’s Baseball, and playing cards. She also loved Jeopardy, and if it was on, you were not allowed to interrupt!

She is survived by her children: Bradley Walker, and Jill (Alan) Witucki; six grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; daughterin- law, Maryann Tyranski; sister, Helen Beckman; along with many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Tyranski; second husband, Royal Walker; sons: Larry Tyranski and Ronald Tyranski; and siblings: Peggy, Louise, and Dick.

Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place.

The memorial service will be on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church at 2905 S. Commerce Road, Walled Lake, MI. 48390.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with the service at 11 a.m.

A luncheon will be held in the church hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, memorial contributions can be made to Christ the King Lutheran Church, Gladwin, MI, or Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church, Walled Lake, MI.
