Edith (Edee) M. Woods
Edith (Edee) M Woods of Gladwin passed away Sept. 23, 2025, in the care of her daughter, Shirley Jean, along with Hospice services at her home.
Edee was born in Sedalia, MO, where she grew up with 11 brothers and sisters. She married Loyal G Woods, also of Sedalia. He preceded her in death. They settled in Dearborn Heights, MI, were they raised their family which included their daughter, Shirley Jean; son, Rick, who preceded her in death; as well as twin sons who died during infancy.
They retired to Indian River, MI, in 1982. They enjoyed many years of waterskiing, snowmobiling, and her most favorite, riding motorcycles – which she enjoyed up until the month before she passed. The couple enjoyed singing country western music which included Edee playing the washboard and Loyal playing the guitar.
After Loyal’s passing in 2019, Edee moved to Gladwin to be near her daughter.
Edee will be missed, forever in the hearts of her daughter; brother, Jim Hart of Smithton, MO; as well as the family of Jerry Seng Jr.
Arrangements are being made wit Stone Funeral Home in Indian River, MI. Her ashes will be next to Loyal in Oak Hill Cemetery in Indian River. No services are scheduled at this time.
