Donald Raymond Bergeron, born on January 22, 1938, in Detroit, MI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Ascension Standish Hospital Skilled Nursing in Standish, MI at the age of 86. He lived in the West Branch and Gladwin area since 1993.
Donald led a fulfilling life marked by hard work and dedication. He was the owner and operator of three Shell Service Stations in Oakland County for many years, where he built lasting relationships with the community.
Later in his career, Donald owned a party store on M-30 (Deer Run) for a few years then found joy working at Glen’s Market/ Family Fare in West Branch, where he met his wife, Diana. His friendly nature and love for socializing made him a cherished figure among friends and customers. Donald had a special talent for teasing people in good humor, always bringing laughter wherever he went.
Beyond his professional life, Donald found happiness in simple pleasures.
He enjoyed golfing, working on cars, and cherished moments spent with his family. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Donald is survived by his daughters, Karen Oosterlinck and Shelli Bergeron; grandchildren: Rachel, Jenna, and Amiee; greatgranddaughter, Harper; sister, Alice Moore; brother, Larry Bergeron; stepchildren: Chelsea Deinzer and Gerald Deinzer; niece, Stacie Kitchen; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lucien and Justina Bergeron; and his wife, Diana.
A memorial service will be held at Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church (www.ogemawhills. org) 3480 W. M-76, West Branch, MI 48661 on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11 a.m. with lunch following.
