Dionicia Bartolome Ancheta
Dionicia Bartolome Ancheta, age 95, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away on August 8, 2024. She was born on March 1, 1929 in Laoag City, Philippines to the late Nicolas and Rafaela Bartolome. She married Julian Ancheta in 1960. She attended Northern Luzon Teachers College where she received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She was an English and Science teacher for 30 years. After retirement, she immigrated to the United States to join her husband and children.
She is survived by children: Edna (Astrophel) Gapusan, Avelina (Elton) Quiaoit, Conrad (Marylou) Ancheta; and her daughterin- law, Evangeline Ancheta.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jeffrey (Roseann) Gapusan, Aizza (Rick) Kerchenfaut, Arvil, Ylenia, Jenne (Steve) Ehrlinspiel, Arian, Ysmael (Catherine) Quiaoit, Yuri (Donnalee) Quiaoit, Jessica (Michael) Bryant; great-grandchildren: Ashley, Madeleine, Zachary, Anneliese, Addison, Charles, Malaya, Caleb, Jocelyn, Zigmund, Yulani, Micha, and Lucas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian; sister, Maxima; brothers, Jaime and Vicente; daughter, Natividad; son, Henry; grandson, Robert Lee; and great-grandson, Noah.
Her life revolved around family and her enthusiasm for the time spent with them. Her hobbies included gardening, watching tv, reading, playing mahjong and going to the casino.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday August 24, 2024, 11 a.m., from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Rev. Fr. Marcel Portelli, and inurnment at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Family will greet friends at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Gladwin Chapel on Friday from 2-8 p.m., and on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. A Rosary Service will be held Friday at 6 p.m.
