Deloree R. Bartkowiak Gauthier
Deloree R. Bartkowiak-Gauthier, passed away peacefully on Jan. 3, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Gladwin, Michigan. Born on Oct. 10, 1926, in Pontiac, Michigan, to the late Harold and Verna (Arker) Welch, Deloree’s life was a tapestry of devotion to her family, her faith, and her community.
Deloree’s journey began in Pontiac, where she grew up surrounded by her loving siblings. Her heart found its match when she married Leonard Bartkowiak on June 21, 1947. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter until Leonard’s passing in 1996.
Deloree found love again and married Emile Gauthier on Oct. 23, 1999, in Gladwin, where they enjoyed years of companionship until Emile’s passing on Jan. 23, 2023.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her devoted daughter, Judy (Chuck) Maxson; daughter-in-law, Karen Bartkowiak; stepchildren: Robert Gauthier, Vivian (Wally) Klaus, and Diane (Brian) Boveing; grandchildren: Aaron, Vicki, Matt, Lori, Brandon, Jamie, and Courtney; six greatgrandchildren; and many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Deloree was preceded in death by her son, Harold Bartkowiak; stepson, Thomas Gauthier; and siblings, Bill Welch, Harold Welch, Cliff Welch, and Norma Agar.
Deloree’s professional life was marked by her long-standing dedication to General Motors in Pontiac, from which she and Leonard retired before moving to Gladwin. Her commitment to her community was evident through her active membership in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Red Hats Society. Deloree’s interests were a reflection of her vibrant spirit; she enjoyed playing cards, engaging in craft projects, and bowling. She was especially close with her family, and her unwavering support of the Detroit Tigers was a testament to her loyalty and passion.
Those who knew Deloree will remember her as loving, creative, and faith filled.
Her ability to bring joy and warmth to any room was unparalleled.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 9, 2026 at Sacred Heart Catholic, at 11 a.m., with interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family will greet family and friends on Thursday from 1-7 p.m. at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Gladwin, and on Friday at Sacred Heart Church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass.
