Darlene Mae Barnes, age 78, of Gladwin, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. She was born on October 18, 1946, the daughter of Dennis and Neta (McPherson) Keely, in Flint. Darlene dedicated many years as a member of the production team at Buick Motor Engine Plant in Flint until her retirement. On July 3, 1970, she married Clare “Butch” Barnes Jr., sharing decades of love and cherished memories until his passing in 2011.
She is survived by her son, Chad (Kristin) Barnes; grandchildren: Aidan Barnes, Xavier Saldua, and Alexis (Thomas) Navarre; great-grandchildren: Abella and Julian Navarre; brothers: Jerry Keely, Donnie (Jo) Keely, and Dennis Keely; sister-in-law, Sue Provenzano; brother-in-law, Thomas Barnes; along with several nieces and nephews.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Clare; parents, Dennis and Neta; grandson, Corbin Filpansick; and brothers: Leslie and Darold Keely.
