Brenden James Lennon

Brenden James Lennon

Brenden James Lennon passed away unexpectedly on February 22, 2025, at McClaren Bay City. He was born in Midland, Michigan, on October 12, 1986. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, from his big smile and personality to his love of cinema and reciting his favorite lines.

Brenden (Bren) graduated from R.H. Dow High School and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Outdoor Recreation from Central Michigan University. He loved the water and spent his career teaching others to love it, too.

Bren emphasized safety and first aid. He instilled those values in all those who worked with him in Colorado, Florida, and Pennsylvania, and his most recent position as Aquatics Manager at the Soaring Eagle Waterpark.

Bren enjoyed the outdoors through rustic camping, hiking, ice climbing in the Upper Peninsula, mountain biking, kayaking and paddle-boarding.

Consistent with Brenden’s “safety first” mindset, he was also a Wilderness First Responder making sure to keep everyone he was with safe. One of his favorite times of the year was our annual family vacation to Higgins Lake.

When the rest of the family was sleeping in the camper, he insisted on pitching a tent.

Brenden leaves behind his parents, Tom and Maggie Lennon; and his girlfriend, Sarah Newlin.

He is also remembered by his siblings: Kristin (Trevor) Oplinger, Michael (Rhowyn) Lennon, and Daneille (David) Schrock.

His nephews: Patrick Schrock, Andrew Schrock, Owen Oplinger and Thomas Schrock will always remember Uncle Brenden for his patience, guidance, and the love he gave them over the years.

Bonnie Sprague, Bren’s manager and good friend, is sponsoring a Memorial Service at the Soaring Eagle Waterpark on Wednesday March 12, from l-3 p.m.
