Rodney Douglas Frye, age 80, of Midland, passed away peacefully on Sept. 27, 2026 at MyMichigan Medical Center – Midland. He was born to the late Harold and Hazel (Schell) Frye on Oct. 23, 1945 in Gladwin, MI. Rodney married the love of his life Geraldine (Gerry) Frye in October of 1992 and they shared 29 loving years together until she preceded him in death on April 17, 2021.
Rodney’s love for music, joke telling, and helping those in need were some of his greatest passions in life.
Rodney is survived by his grandchildren: Robert Jarosiewicz, David (Jessica) Jarosiewicz, Michael (Jennifer) Jarosiewicz, Nathan (Marcus) Jarosiewicz, Sarah (Thomas) Wright, and Lauren Sugden. Great-grandchildren: Aubrey Jarosiewicz, Tyler Jarosiewicz, Jacob Jarosiewicz, Axel Jarosiewicz, Rowan Jarosiewicz, Isabel Wright, Jackson Wright, and Harper Wright. Siblings: VaLois Burns, Gregory Frye, and Vana Haley.
He is preceded in death by, wife, Geraldine Frye; son, Erik Frye; daughter, Susan Jarosiewicz; great-granddaughter, Haley Jarosiewicz; and siblings: Marvin, Natalie, Bryan Jerry, and Elton Frye.
Cremation has taken place. In accordance with Rodney’s wishes, his ashes and his wife’s ashes were to be spread together in Gladwin at a later date.
