GLADWIN – In a Bay Area Narcotics Enforcement Team (BAYANET) press release, it was stated that three suspects were jailed for PWID (injecting drugs) specifically, crystal meth.
According to the report, BAYANET recieved information from a Gladwin City PD officer that suspects from the Grand Rapids area were selling large amounts of meth from a hotel in Gladwin.
On Tuesday, July 14, detectives initiated surveillance and developed probable cause to obtain search warrants for a hotel room and a house being used to distribute meth. On July 15, BAYANET was assisted by the Gladwin City PD and Third District EST members with surveillance prior to executing two search warrants.
The main suspect was arrested in the parking lot after he sold to a suspect from the Gladwin area. The Gladwin suspect was stopped after he threw a bag containing four ounces of meth out of a window.
A search of the hotel room resulted in the seizure of 19 ounces of crystal meth along with $3,200 cash. Upon searching the house, an additional 18 ounces of meth was seized. Three suspects were lodged in the Gladwin County Jail for PWID crystal meth.
