GLADWIN COUNTY – On Sunday, May, 24, the Gladwin County Clerk issued a press release with information from the county road commission and the Central Michigan Health Department.
The Gladwin County Road Commission is working around the clock to restore roadways for residents. The listing of closed roads changes hourly. Please contact the Road Commission at 989-426-7441 for further information.
The Highwood, Estey, Secord, and M-30 bridges will be closed for an undetermined length of time. Do not walk onto or attempt to cross the bridges. The mentioned roadways are deemed unsafe. Individuals are asked to please observe the closures and stay off any roadways/bridges marked ‘closed’ for their safety.
Central Michigan Health Department (cmdhd.org) has more information from the CDC on flood issues and safety on your property. If your house has been flooded, cleanup with safety glasses, gloves, boots and a mask.
There will be more information coming soon on the proper disposal of refuge and drop off locations for large items. Gladwin County Community Foundation (www.gladwinfoundation.org/) is the approved place to make donations in support of these flood efforts.
