GLADWIN COUNTY – The Gladwin County Chamber of Commerce is in need of service groups to help clean up the four areas where the debris was placed after removal from the flooded neighborhoods. The designated clean up day will be on Saturday, July 18 starting at 9 a.m. at the Billings Township Hall. This is light clean up of leftover pieces of debris on the sites; the large debris piles have been removed, it’s just the smaller pieces that need to be picked up. The Chamber would like to tell all volunteers to bring gloves. Volunteers should also bring a stick with a poker or an extended pick up device if desired. Bags will be provided.
This will be a great opportunity for our service organizations and the Chamber board to do a day of volunteering.
Beaverton City Manager, Heath Kaplan will be leading this effort. Please RSVP by calling 989-802-1771 by Thursday morning, July 16 with the number of people your group can have help out. Family members, friends, other civic groups, high school NHS, or other groups are welcome. This is an opportunity to serve our county on the flood effort.
