GLADWIN COUNTY – The Gladwin County 4-H Program is now accepting enrollment for the Tales for Tails reading program. This program is open to youth ages 5-12 interested in reading to the animals at the Gladwin County Animal Shelter. Tales for Tails kicks off Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m. and will run through June, taking place the first and third Wednesday of each month. Parents must pick up their child at the Gladwin County Animal Shelter by 4:30 p.m.
Youth will engage in building core reading skills while spending time with the animals. Children are encouraged to bring their favorite book with them but, books will be provided for youth to read.
Children interested in the Tales for Tails reading program are encouraged to register at mi.4honline.com. Participation fee scholarships are available. Children can be dropped off by a parent for this program but if transportation is needed please contact the Gladwin County MSUE office so we can make arrangements.
