On Tuesday, April 18, the Gladwin Rotary Club welcomed Tina Cook, Program Director for MidMichigan Health Senior Life Solutions.
Senior Life Solutions, an intensive outpatient group therapy program, is designed to meet the unique needs of older adults typically ages 65 and older struggling with age-related depression, anxiety, difficult life transitions, a recent health diagnosis, or the loss of a loved one. As program director, Tina Cook is responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of program staff to ensure quality patient care, and providing community education to create awareness of the program.
Tina earned her nursing degree at Delta College and Master of Arts in Counseling at Central Michigan University. Most recently, her employment was as Health, Wellness and Recovery Director at AuSable Valley Community Mental Health. She has been a nurse for 24 years and has worked in many different areas including hospital floor nursing, home health care, long term care, office based nursing and as an ACT psychiatric nurse.
Cook said, “I am delighted to work in the two areas of nursing that I enjoy the most, geriatrics and psychiatric care, where I will be able to provide support and compassionate care to those patients whom we are blessed to serve”.
Family members, physicians, self-referrals, or other health professionals can refer individuals to the program. For information on MidMichigan Gladwin Hospital Senior Life Solutions program, call 989-246-6339.
