On Thursday, Aug. 19, a man lost control of his vehicle when he couldn’t stop in time for another vehicle while heading northbound on M-30 near Sugar River Road.
The man’s vehicle spun around across the other side of the road and flipped off of the roadway into a tree.
Despite the severity of the accident, the driver sustained only minor injuries. Gladwin County Deputies on site believe this is due to the safe and secure designs of modern vehicles.
With the doors inaccessible, Butman Township Fire worked to pry back the top of the car with jaws in order to create a way out for the man inside.
Butman Fire was assisted by others including MidMichigan Health EMS and the Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office. The man refused any medical attention and was taken to a residence by deputies.
