Norm Gage Prosecutor

On Friday, May 13, Gladwin County swore in a new prosecuting attorney, Norman E. Gage. The prior prosecutor, Aaron Miller stepped down to take a new position in Isabella County. 

Pursuant to state law, the Circuit Court Judges are tasked with making a new appointment after prosector Miller’s departure. They selected the county’s current assistant prosecutor, Norman Gage to fulfill the remainder of Prosecutor Miller’s term. 

Gage has a long career as a prosecutor, starting in Clare County as an assistant and continuing on to serve 12 years as the elected prosecutor in Clare County. Norm’s been with the Gladwin County Prosecutor’s office since 2009 as the assistant prosecutor. 

“I believe the Gladwin County community is entitled to fair, honest and balanced representation,” Gage said. “And I believe I can provide that to our community.”

In addition to other community activities, Gage volunteers his time to help educate others on the criminal justice system. He continues to provide his talents in the courtroom to the Gladwin County Leadership Program in order to explain the court process and also to participate in a mock trial for the participants to see. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Mid Michigan College, teaching in the criminal justice program.

Many Gladwin County officials were present when Gage was sworn in by Circuit Judge, Roy Mienk. Karen Moore, Chairperson of the Gladwin County Board of Commissioners was in attendance and stated that she is very pleased with the judges’ selection and believes Norm will continue to serve Gladwin County residents faithfully.
