MIDLAND – The Midland Symphony Orchestra (MSO) announced auditions for the upcoming 2019-2020 season to be held Sunday, Oct. 6, at 1 p.m. at Midland Center for the Arts. Consisting of more than 70 professional musicians from across the state, the MSO concert season is performed in the 1,500-seat Center auditorium.
Conductor and Music Director Bohuslav Rattay and Dr. Matt Travis, Director of Choral and Orchestral Programs at the Center, will be filling openings for Fourth Horn, Principal Trombone, Section Percussion, Section Violin and Section Viola.
Advance registration and a refundable deposit of $25 are required for auditions which will be approximately ten minutes. Musicians must be prepared to play required excerpts, solo selections and possible sight reading. Registration forms as well as required repertoire and excerpts are available online at www.mcfta.org/auditions.
