GLADWIN – Riverwalk Place is excited to kick off Gladwin Fun Days this year with a 0.5K Micro Marathon on July 12. The race will start at City Hall and end right behind Riverwalk Place. 0.5 Kilometers is the equivalent to 0.31 Miles or 547 yards, it’s quite a hike! As you are running the race, Riverwalk will have a carb fill-up station with tasty donuts from the Fruitful Orchard. Water will also be available, because running this race will be draining and we don’t want you to become dehydrated.
When you register for our Micro Marathon you will be supporting the Trail of Two Cities, the 2.5-mile trail that starts at North Park and ends at River Road. In the image you can see a map of the entire trail. The trail will eventually connect Gladwin and Beaverton, with the support from both cities. The Trail of Two Cities is great for walking, biking, rollerblading, running and more. The Gladwin Recreation Trail Authority has been working hard, keeping the trail clean and clear and looking to add improvements like signage, benches and more.
To stay updated on the progress be sure to “Like” the Gladwin Recreation Trail Authority Facebook Page/Registration for the Micro Marathon and get one race T-shirt, one sweet treat, one race bib, entry into the race and a 0.5K sticker to proudly display on your car.
