GLADWIN COUNTY – The Gladwin County Clerk has issued an announcement regarding both debris sites and distribution centers for local flood victims in need.
According to the announcement, all flood debris dump sites are currently closed and in the process of being cleaned out. Any flood debris that remains on a resident’s property that needs to be hauled away or removed will now be handled between the property owner and their local trash company.
The Gladwin Flood Relief Center at Sacred Heart Church is in need of donations to assist the residents affected by the flood. Items needed include non-perishable canned and boxed foods, kitchen storage and trash bags, cleaning supplies, laundry supplies and toiletries.
Items can be dropped off at the activity center behind the church at 300 North Silverleaf in Gladwin. Call 517-300-6405 for information or for further instruction.
Their regular hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until noon. Volunteers are still needed to assist at the distribution center. The distribution center urges people to stop into this location and to volunteer their time during the center’s posted hours of operation.
