GLADWIN – On Friday, July 12, there will be a Fish and Shrimp dinner at the Knights of Columbus Hall in benefit of Gladwin and Beaverton’s Backpack Buddies Program. Backpack Buddies is a program through the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan which provides food for weekend nutrition to K-5 students, who have food insecurity at home.
This program has been operating in Gladwin schools for six years. In Beaverton, the program just completed its fifth year of operation. One child can be fed each week during the school year for $100. With your help, this program will continue in Gladwin County.
Dinner will be $ 10 for Fish or $12 for fish and 6 shrimp. Ages 6-12 is $7 for fish and $ 8 for fish and shrimp. Children 5 and under are free.
Menu varies, but includes: shrimp, ocean pollock, coleslaw, side dishes, drinks and dessert. Carryout is available.
Located at the K of C Hall on M-18, just south of M-61.
