GLADWIN – Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office issued a press release this morning that states that on Tuesday, April 6 around 11 p.m., deputies from the Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office were called to investigate a personal injury accident on Oberlin Rd. south of Ziemer Rd., in Sage Township.
Upon arrival, deputies found a 2012 Jeep Wrangler on its roof in the ditch on the east side of Oberlin Rd. The driver, Alissa Marie Bunnell, 26 years old of Gladwin, was found partially pinned beneath the Jeep. Bunnell was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. She was the only occupant in the Jeep at the time of the crash.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation according to the Sheriff’s Office. Alcohol is believed to be a factor and deputies found that Bunnell was not wearing a seat belt during the accident.
