GLADWIN – Two different fires at neighboring M-18 structures occurred Monday, Sept. 16, at two different times.
Gladwin Fire was dispatched at 4:30 a.m., Sept. 19 to a structure fire at 1743 South M-18. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the kitchen area. The rest of the home sustained heavy smoke damage. Gladwin Sheriff’s deputies, enroute to a nearby call, helped at the scene and are investigating. The home owned by Tom Molski is insured but the renter did not have insurance on contents.
There were no injuries. Firefighters were on scene for about 2 hours.
Later that same day Gladwin Fire was dispatched at 8:35 a.m., to a structure fire at nearby 1616 South M-18. A garage was on fire. The garage sustained heavy smoke and fire damage. Firefighters were able to keep the fire contained so there was no damage to the nearby residence.
Gladwin County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the cause and origin. There is no insurance on the loss. There were no injuries. Firefighters were on scene for about two hours.
