BEAVERTON – Originally, a driver allegedly told a witness that she had been on her cell phone at the time of an accident. Now, police reports are saying that it was a case of spilled coffee that distracted a driver and resulted in a collision with a buggy.

Late Friday morning, Oct. 14, a pickup truck was driving west on Beaverton Rd when it struck a buggy traveling in the same direction. The passengers of the buggy, Rachel Hershberger, Louina Hershberger, and Rachel Stutesman, sustained multiple injuries and were transported by ambulance to Midland. The horse broke free and ran into an approaching vehicle before it fled to a nearby field.
