GLADWIN COUNTY – Road work began on M-18 on Wednesday, September 9. The construction stretches from just north of the Gladwin/Midland County line to the north side of Beaverton.
This project is being headed by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and is a part of a $1.1 million investment to resurface more than five miles of M-18 from the Gladwin/Midland county line to Burgess Road in Beaverton according to a press release from MDOT.
Due to M-18 only having two lanes for a majority of this stretch of roadway, the traffic is being maintained with traffic regulators. The traffic lanes take turns passing through the available roadway slowly while the other waits for their signal to move.
The resurfacing project will improve the driving surface and extend the life of the roadway according to MDOT. The estimated completion date for the construction is Friday, October 16, 2020.
