CLARE/GLADWIN COUNTIES – The Clare-Gladwin Board of Realtors has named Charles Gaskill as its 2020 Realtor of the Year. This award is given in recognition of outstanding leadership and service for the association, the community and the real estate industry.
Local award winners were chosen by their peers and recognized both locally and on October 7, 2020 at the virtual convention. Nominees are evaluated on their community service, education, business accomplishments and service to the realtor organization at the local, state and national levels.
Charles was licensed in 1995, received his broker’s license in 1998. He joined the Clare-Gladwin Board of Realtors in 2013 and the Board the Directors in 2014. He has always done detailed background research on board and on the financial issues and concerns to make sure that they are resolved correctly. He stepped up and served a consecutive term as President when the President-Elect resigned. His first priority is always to the members.
Chuck served as Secretary in 2014, Treasurer in 2015 and 2016, President-Elect in 2017, President in 2018 and 2019 and Past President in 2020. Chuck also served on Program Social in 2016, 2018 and 2019. He served as the Financial Chair in 2016 and on the Financial Committee in 2017. He served as Ex-Officio on all committees in 2018 and 2019.
Chuck has been involved in Project Kids, Farwell Area Schools backpack program, after school food and clothing distribution for Farwell Schools and Farwell area meal site contributions, a vast amount of anonymous food assistance for families in need. He has also created a very special relationship with some of the seniors at the senior high rise in Clare.
Chuck has an excellent rapport with the Amish community in Clare as well as other clients. Attorneys call upon him as a witness for court proceedings. He also has a very good relationship with the local lenders.
