GLADWIN – Clare-Gladwin RESD Technology Coordinator Kevin Smalley was honored recently for his volunteer work with Harrison High School’s First Robotics club. Smalley was recognized with the 2020 STEM STAR by the MiSTEM East Central Michigan Region and STEM at SVSU.
In his nomination for the award, Smalley was credited with helping to launch the school’s robotics program, serving as a mentor, organizer and fundraiser, as well as a leader who sets goals and expectations that participants are inspired to meet. Smalley was named the recipient of the award in March, but due to COVID-19, he received the 3D-printed trophy on Sept. 23.
