GLADWIN COUNTY – The Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office issued a press release that detailed an arrest made on a Thomas Gray, a 54-year-old man from Beaverton.
According to the release, the sheriff’s office received information on a possible sexual assault involving a juvenile, which, after an investigation resulted in Gray’s arrest. Gray was later charged with Aggravated Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material and Criminal Sexual Conduct – Second Degree.
Before his arrest, the Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office discovered that Gray had left the state and that he was possibly residing in Tennessee. The release states that detectives contacted the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee to locate and arrest Gray on his warrants.
Gray was located in Cheatham County and waived his extradition hearings. Deputies from the Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office traveled to Tennessee for extradition and Thomas Gray was later arraigned in the 80th District Court of Gladwin on Tuesday, Dec. 22 with a bond set for 250,000 cash surety.
