The Beaverton Lions Club is currently working with the Trail of Two Cities organizers to erect a new pavilion on the south end of the trail. The Buckeye Trailhead is the latest addition to the multi-purpose trail that will eventually connect both Gladwin and Beaverton.
Once complete, this trailhead will feature a kayak/canoe launch, pavilion and restrooms.
In previous years, the Beaverton Lions Club has been instrumental in the pavilion construction at Ross Lake Park in Beaverton.
The Beaverton Lions Club was organized in 1944 as a part of Lions International and is a service organization that has eye care as its principal charitable work. Fundraising and charitable projects are always focused on Gladwin County residents.
In addition to eyesight projects, the club awards scholarships to local students, has an Adopt-a-Family Christmas program, assists residents with eyeglasses and hearing aids, performs community park enhancements and Leo Club at Beaverton Schools. The Club also owns and rents the Lions Community Center building with recently installed Wifi and has plans to upgrade other building technology.
