BEAVERTON – The newest class of Beaverton High School Distinguished Alumni will be inducted during a ceremony on Wednesday, May 23, at 12:30 p.m. at BHS. The BHSDA committee, comprised of current and former local educators and community leaders, announced the inductees at a recent meeting.
The induction ceremony will coincide with BHS seniors’ commencement rehearsal, giving 2018 graduates the opportunity to actively participate in the festivities.
“This is a great way for the future leaders graduating from BHS to get to know some of the people who came before and became huge successes in their fields,” said BHSDA Committee Chair Roy Johnston. “Our committee had a difficult time narrowing the long list of worthy candidates down to two for this class, but these inductees represent BHS very well.”
This year’s inductees are Craig Winton (’83), a project manager, construction manager and technical leader in the oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors; and Cindy (Smith) Krol (’78), a decorated skin cancer expert and sun safety advocate.
BHSDA inductees and/or their families will be on hand for the event. The public is welcome to attend.
