GLADWIN – The Michigan Association of Register of Deeds (MARD) recently held their 105th Annual Educational Conference in Port Huron. The conference was hosted by Berrien County Register of Deeds Lora Freehling and current MARD President, Paul DeYoung, Van Buren County Register of Deeds. Registers representing 51 of Michigan’s 83 counties were in attendance for the conference.
Next year’s 2020 officers were elected at the conference. Gladwin County Register of Deeds, Ann Manning-Clayton was elected by her fellow Registers across the state as Third Vice President of the Michigan Association of Register of Deeds.
“We are fortunate to have a Third Vice President of Ms. Manning-Clayton’s caliber, experience, and professionalism to represent our association. She has demonstrated her leadership in a wide array of issues and positions within the association. She is greatly admired by her colleagues and is a tremendous asset to the association and the citizens of Michigan. Ann has served as the Register of Deeds of Gladwin County since 2010”, said Association President Paul DeYoung.
The other 2020 officers elected at the conference are President Stewart Sanders, Newaygo Register of Deeds; First Vice President Michelle Stevenson, Roscommon County Clerk/Register; Second Vice President Brandon Denby, Livingston County Register; Treasurer Karen Jackson, Isabella County Register; and Secretary Amy Bissel, Benzie County Register of Deeds.
