DEAR PAW’S CORNER: Walking around the farmer’s market this weekend, I confronted several people who brought their dogs into the market despite clear signage saying pets aren’t allowed. The reason for the sign is that the pavement is HOT! Summer temperatures regularly reach 90 to 100 degrees or more.

GLADWINThere was another successful Gladwin/ Beaverton Community Food Distribution (GBCFD) in the parking lot of Christ the King Lutheran Church on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Over 21,000 pounds of food from the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan was passed out to 183 households and 427 household members.
